ABOUT THE PROJECT

The “Free Computer Training & Study Classes Project” is a fast-track educational program which we plan to run as a way to empower the entire country, especially the less privileged Children, Women & Youth who have not been to school, dropped out from school or studied in another language. While taking part in reducing illiteracy rate. The program mainly protrudes to enhance or build people’s capacity through literacy, applicable numeracy and computer literacy for personal development in their daily lives.

THE PROBLEM THIS PROJECT ADDRESSES

We live in a community where there are lots of people who can neither read nor write English Language or operate the computer at a basic level. We see this situation as one of the biggest problems, causing economic downturn in our communities. Vendors at the market, shops or selling-spots along the streets give out over change and sometimes, receive under-change due to lack of simple additional and subtraction. Local business people are without basic knowledge to calculate the profit and loss of their businesses. Uneducated people find it difficult to communicate with tourists and other international investors, when communication plays a significant role in business trusteeship. Educated people cheat the uneducated in textual transaction via media such as phones, internet, books, documents, newspapers, etc. These actually, cause most small or big businesses to disintegrate. Illiteracy is certainly a big problem in this regard.

HOW WILL THIS PROJECT HELP SOLVE THE PROBLEM To overcome this problem:

1. We will provide an equitable and adequate access to literacy education free to all interested Children, Women & Youths in the community. (Absolutely Free!!!)

2. We will provide the students with free materials such as: files, books, pens, pencils, rulers, erasers and other improvisatorial items.

3. We will provide free refreshment (tea, coffee or juice) during break time.

4. We will not only be involve in the ability to read and write, but also we will implement some basic negotiation skills that will further empower students in carrying out successful business activities such as basic marketing skills, basic computing skills, etc.

WHAT IS THE DURATION OF THE PROJECT AND WHEN DOES IT BEGIN?

The project is programmed to last for 12 months and scheduled to begin in JULY 2019 – JUNE 2020 BUDGET TO RUN THE PROJECT The budget for the “Free Computer Training & Study Classes Project” is estimated at Five Hundred And Fifty-One Thousand Dalasis (D551, 000.00), for a maximum of 250 students with the stipulated 12 months. We have already had 93 students registered at our office and they have started the Computer Training Project since June 2017

BRIEFING OF PROGRAM The program is design to train people from a very basic level to the most propitious level enabling them with eligibility to a modern constructive standard of living.

ACHIEVEMENT Certificates will only be issued upon successful completion at the end of the course to qualify students for survival English, French, Basic Computer and Marketing Skills.

Upon graduation, students will be eligible to understand, speak, read and write both English and French Languages; equipped with adequate knowledge to confidently sit for job interviews; able to fill forms and compose letters or articles; communicate businesswise and operate the computer at an ordinary level.
