Who We Are

CEDEN & DEFENSE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS is an independent, non-governmental, non-partisan and not-for-profit human rights organization established on the 8th September, 2006 by Envoy & Ambassador Lindon Taylor-Camara. It seeks to remove impediments to democratic development and meaningful enjoyment of the fundamental freedoms enshrined internationally recognized human rights instruments through enhancement of knowledge, respect and observance of human rights; and promotion of exchange of information and best practices through training, education, research, legislative advocacy and strategic partnerships in West Africa.

Ceden addresses the entire range of human rights: civil and political as well as economic, social and cultural rights as defined in international human rights covenants. The Organization has Observer Status with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, is a member of the World Coalition against the Death Penalty.

CEDEN is an International Organisation which focus in helping the needy children and women throughout the world, through the little funds its has from personal donors, groups or institutions that are willing to donates to its fund so that the Organisation can help the affected, vulnerable, displaced and poor populations, addressing the root causes of the violence and deprivation that exacerbate their condition and position.

This initiative came through a young man who taught it fit that people in the world at large, should have the chance to express their opinions and views in matters pertaining to them. So he decided to set up this Organisation. This young man known as Lindon Taylor-Camara.

The Organisation endeavors to improve the standard of living of the less privileged in The Gambia and the world as a whole.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.

Our Mission

To protect future generations from a repeat of these horrors, the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. For the first time, the Universal Declaration set out the fundamental rights and freedoms shared by all human beings

The Organization's overall mission is to empower and educate young individuals to be self-sufficient leaders in their communities. CEDEN believes this is achieved not only through knowledge, it is also necessary for children to be healthy and to work collectively to create better solutions to some of the challenges they may face in the future.

Our Mission

Our Vision
